Dr. Stefan Dresely
Head of the Krefeld-Uerdingen CHEMPARK
Dr. Stefan Dresely was born in Lindau on January 20, 1955. On completing his school education in Bonn, he enrolled at the University of Bonn to study chemistry. After his intermediate examination, he studied at Pittsburgh University in Pennsylvania, USA, for a year, returning to Germany to complete his degree course in Bonn. He then moved to Marburg University, where he obtained his doctorate in 1987. In that same year he began his professional career in the Process Development Department at Merck KGaA in Darmstadt.
In 1990 he joined Bayer AG in Dormagen as a plant manager in the Polyurethanes Business Group. In 1993 he transferred to what was then Miles Inc. in New Martinsville, West Virginia, USA, as plant manager, returning in 1997 to take over as head of the MDI plant in Krefeld-Uerdingen. In 2001 he became an assistant in the Investment and Technology Coordination Department within Bayer’s Corporate Planning Division before taking over as head of the Technology Department within Strategic Planning in 2005 following the reorganization of the Bayer Group.
Effective April 1, 2007, Dr. Dresely was appointed head of the Krefeld-Uerdingen CHEMPARK and of the Safety Business Unit of Currenta GmbH & Co. OHG (formerly Bayer Industry Services).
