Dr. Walter Leidinger

Biographies

Head of the Dormagen CHEMPARK
Dr. Walter Leidinger was born in Lima, Peru, on December 18, 1952. After completing his school education at the German-Peruvian School in Lima, he studied chemistry at the city’s Universidad Católica del Perú from 1970 to 1974. He continued his studies at the Heidelberg University Institute of Inorganic Chemistry from 1978 to 1981, obtaining his doctorate in 1981. He began his professional career with Bayer AG in Dormagen in 1982, joining the Dralon production department in what was then the Fibers Business Group. A year later, he took over as head of Dralon production at Bayer Industrial S.A. in Lima. In 1988, he became assistant to the head of the polymers sector at Bayer AG in Leverkusen and, three years later, was appointed head of rubber chemicals production there.

From 1995 to 1999, Dr. Leidinger was Technical Managing Director of Rhein Chemie Rheinau GmbH in Mannheim. In 2000, he became head of the Environmental Protection Department at Bayer AG, and two years later was named head of Environmental Services in the reorganized Site Services/Bayer Industry Services, now CURRENTA Environment.

He has been head of the Dormagen CHEMPARK since November 1, 2005.
