Biographies
Head of the Leverkusen CHEMPARK
Dr. Ernst Grigat was born in Leverkusen on May 19, 1961. After completing his school education and his military service with the German Air Force, he enrolled at the University of Cologne in 1981 to study chemistry, obtaining his doctorate in 1990. He began his professional career in 1991 in the Central Research Division of Bayer AG in Krefeld-Uerdingen. In 1995 he moved to the Research and Development Department of the Plastics Business Group, likewise in Krefeld-Uerdingen. In 1998 Dr. Grigat was appointed assistant to the Management Board member responsible for the Research and Development sector. As from 1999, he headed the Desmopan plant in Dormagen and the Texin plant in New Martinsville, West Virginia, USA. In January 2003 he took over as head of Technology at Dorlastan und Monofil Fibers GmbH in Dormagen, Goch and Bushy Park, South Carolina, USA.
In May 2004 he moved to Antwerp as Managing Director of LANXESS NV Antwerpen and Senior Representative for LANXESS in Belgium.
Transferring on January 1, 2007 to Bayer Industry Services – now called CURRENTA – he became Manager of the CHEMPARK Leverkusen site. On July 1, 2007 he was additionally appointed head of the new CHEMPARK Management Business Unit.
In May 2004 he moved to Antwerp as Managing Director of LANXESS NV Antwerpen and Senior Representative for LANXESS in Belgium.
Transferring on January 1, 2007 to Bayer Industry Services – now called CURRENTA – he became Manager of the CHEMPARK Leverkusen site. On July 1, 2007 he was additionally appointed head of the new CHEMPARK Management Business Unit.
